Improver Electrician
The Improver Electricians main roles are:
- To carry out electrical installations along side the lead electrician.
- To work to health and safety requirements.
- To show a willingness to develop lead electrician qualities / capabilities.
- To have relevant site experience.
Requirements:
- City and Guilds 2368 Electrical Installation Level 2
- NVQ Electrical Installation Level 2
- ECS Health and Safety Test
Notes:
- Must have been a registered apprentice or undergone some equivalent method of training and have had practical training in electrical installation work.
- Must have obtained an NVQ Level 2 in electrical installation work (or approved equivalent)
- Must have completed the further education courses, though not necessarily have passed all the examinations, associated with the appropriate training scheme. These will normally be either the City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or the City & Guilds 2351 or the City & Guilds 2330
- Must, under the supervision of a fully skilled operative, be able to install wiring systems, wiring enclosures and electrical equipment required by electrical installation work in accordance with the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, the current IEE Regulations for Electrical Installations and the Construction Industry Safety Regulations. An Electrical Improver will not be deemed competent to carry out final connections, isolation of supplies or any form of inspection or testing.
